So how does our service work?

  1. Booking

  • When booking our service to move out of your halls of residence and into your second year houses, please only book a time slot for when you want to move back in, our key card access system allows us to pick your belongings up from your room after you’ve moved out. You can amend your time slot nearer the time subject to availability.

  • Please think carefully about how much you will want to pack and select extra boxes or fragile items accordingly. Extra charges may incur for items in your room you haven’t told us about.

  • After booking you need to email the residencies office - using the email address on your residencies card to tell them we are coming. After booking we will send you a reminder email with further details. This step is crucial as if you do not do this we will not be able to pick up your belongings.

  • Currently our key card access system is only available for students living in Cardiff University residences, with more locations and universities coming soon. If you are at another in private accommodation, in a student house or at another university, you can contact us to request a pick up slot and quote.

  • When you book you will pay the whole price upfront, but don’t worry, we know things can change, so if you change your mind within two weeks we will refund 75% of the price you paid.

2. Packing

  • We will send you all necessary packing equipment including boxes, labels, tape and bubble wrap, please use our supplies and not your own. A full packing guide will be emailed to you and included in your moving kit.

  • You will receive 3 boxes as standard, and a standard box is 20” x 18” x 18” in size and double walled. Please do not pack your box any heavier than you can carry.

  • Every move comes with £100 standard Insurance for any lost or damaged items, and you will have the option to purchase more on booking.

  • Any large or fragile Items such as TVs or Mirrors must be completely wrapped in the bubble wrap we will provide, using the guide we will provide nearer the time. Failure to do this may invalidate your insurance.

  • Non-Fragile ‘Large’ Items that do not fit in a standard box, such and bedside tables, chairs and clothes horses do not have to be bubble wrapped. You must however specify the exact details of these Items on booking and can only send a maximum of two items.

  • In your moving kit we will provide you with information labels which you must populate and stick on the top of your box. We will also provide you with stickers you must sign and stick on the top and bottom of the box over the tape. Failure to do this may result in forfeiting your insurance.

  • We will also send you an online form to fill out, stating a description of the content of all boxes and pictures of all items exactly as you leave them for us. Failure to do this may result in forfeiting your insurance.

3. Pick up & STORAGE

  • Provided you have followed the steps provided and contacted the Cardiff University residencies office to give us permissions to enter your room we will collect your belongings and move them to a secure storage location for the summer.

  • You must tell us when you are planning on moving out, at booking, and using the pick up form we will provide nearer the end of term. This date must be before the 26th June 2024.

4. Drop off

  • You will select a time slot to move back in to your house in September upon booking. Don’t worry if you don’t know exactly when you want it yet, you can contact us nearer the time and change if needed.

  • Booking slots for moving in will only be available for September.

  • When you book a time slot, the time is for on the hour, not anytime during that hour. We have a lot of people to move in, so if you are not there in time you might need to reschedule.

  • We will send you a reminder at 1 week, and at 24hrs before your appointment.
